This translation is provided for convenience: the Italian text is the binding one.
1. Parties to the contract
The Rankly service (hereinafter "the Service") is provided by Soloweb S.R.L. (hereinafter "we", "Rankly"), with registered office at Via Enrico Mattei 24, 28100 Novara (NO), Italy, VAT number and tax code 02927680344, REA NO-247568, share capital €10,000.00 fully paid.
The user who signs up for an account (hereinafter "the User", "you") fully accepts these Terms on registering or using the Service.
For any contractual communication: info@soloweb.io (certified email: pec@soloweb.io). For operational support on the Service: support@rankly.it.
2. Purpose of the Service
Rankly is a SaaS service for running competitive 1v1 tournaments with built-in ranking. It provides:
- Pairing engine for Swiss, Single Elimination and Double Elimination formats
- Structured numeric score for each match with real tiebreakers
- Live real-time standings for viewers (Server-Sent Events)
- Participant check-in with group draw
- Public pages for viewers and streaming overlays
- Versioned public REST API
- (Championship add-on) Season ranking combined across several tournaments
- (Federation Pack add-on) Creation of affiliated organisations ("clubs") under your own organisation, with their own identity and shared billing
An up-to-date description of the features is available at /funzioni. Any changes or additions to features will be communicated through the interface or by transactional email.
3. Account and access
Registration is only possible through Google or Discord OAuth authentication. We don’t manage passwords of our own. The security of the account depends on the security of the account with the OAuth provider used.
You’re responsible for keeping your OAuth account confidential and for all activity carried out through it. If you suspect unauthorised access, report it immediately to support@rankly.it.
You must be at least 16 to use the Service. If you are under 18, subscribing to a paid plan requires the consent of a parent or guardian.
4. Prices and payments
Available plans (all prices exclude VAT):
- Standard plan: €29/month, recurring monthly charge via Stripe.
- Lifetime Championship add-on: €199 one-off, lifetime activation of the championship feature for the organisation that makes the payment. Requires an active Standard plan to be purchased and used.
- Lifetime Federation Pack add-on: €299 one-off, lifetime activation of the "federation" feature for the organisation that makes the payment. It unlocks the creation of affiliated organisations ("affiliated clubs") that share the Standard subscription of the organisation that bought the add-on and its administrators. Requires an active Standard plan to be purchased and used. Affiliated organisations can’t buy the Federation Pack themselves (maximum 2 hierarchy levels).
Payments are handled by Stripe Payments Europe Ltd. We don’t handle or store payment data (cards, IBAN). Invoices are issued automatically by Stripe on our behalf and can be downloaded from the Customer Portal, reachable from your account’s billing panel.
4.1 Trial period (14-day trial)
On the first purchase of the Standard plan we offer a free 14-day trial. Subscribing requires entering a valid payment method when the trial starts. At the end of the 14 days the subscription renews automatically at €29/month, unless explicitly cancelled.
On day 11 of the trial we send a reminder email via Postmark. You can cancel at any time before the charge at no cost from your account’s billing panel.
4.2 Automatic renewal and cancellation
The Standard subscription renews automatically every month. You can stop it at any time from the Stripe Customer Portal reachable from the billing panel. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid (e.g. cancelling on day 20 = service active until day 30 of the current month, no further charges afterwards).
4.3 Failed payment
If a recurring payment fails (expired card, insufficient funds, authorisation revoked), the Service switches to "Payment failed" status and shows a banner in the panel. Stripe automatically retries the charge over the following 14 days. If no attempt succeeds, the subscription is cancelled. Data is kept read-only as set out in section 5 below.
4.4 Championship add-on
The Championship add-on is a one-off payment of €199 that permanently activates the related feature for the organisation that buys it ("lifetime"). It has no automatic renewal or expiry. The add-on stays active even if the Standard subscription is cancelled and later reactivated. The add-on is tied to the organisation that made the payment and can’t be transferred to another organisation.
5. Right of withdrawal and digital services
Under Art. 59(o) of the Italian Consumer Code (Legislative Decree 206/2005, implementing EU Directive 2011/83/EU), the 14-day right of withdrawal for distance contracts does not apply to the supply of digital content on a non-tangible medium when performance has begun with the consumer’s prior express consent and acknowledgement that the right of withdrawal is lost.
However, we chose to offer a free 14-day trial precisely so you can evaluate the Service with no commitment. During the trial you can cancel at any time from the panel without any charge.
After the first post-trial charge, refunds are not due but may be granted at our discretion case by case (e.g. serious documented outages, double-charge errors).
6. Data retention after cancellation
If you cancel the subscription or deactivate the organisation:
- Tournaments and data stay read-only for 90 days from the cancellation date
- Public tournament pages stay reachable with an "archived tournament" banner
- You can reactivate the subscription within the 90 days without losing data
- After 90 days identifiable personal data is removed (hard delete of matches, anonymisation of historical relations)
- Tax data (invoices) is kept for 10 years as required by Italian law
You can request an early export of your data from the panel (on the roadmap) or by writing to support@rankly.it.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service for:
- Activities that are unlawful under applicable Italian or international law
- Publishing defamatory, offensive or discriminatory content, or content that infringes the rights of others
- Attempting to compromise the integrity of the Service (DDoS, mass scraping, reverse engineering of the SSE protocol)
- Creating multiple accounts to get around technical or commercial limits
- Uploading content covered by third-party copyright without authorisation
In case of violation we may suspend or terminate the Service with notice (24 hours by email, except for serious violations that justify immediate suspension). Data is kept as set out in section 6 and you can appeal by writing to info@soloweb.io.
8. Availability of the Service
We provide the Service on a "best-effort" basis. We don’t formally guarantee any uptime SLA for the plans currently offered. We do, however, commit to:
- Keeping the Service running in production 24/7
- Dealing with blocking outages as soon as possible (best effort)
- Announcing scheduled maintenance at least 24 hours in advance
Interruptions don’t entitle you to automatic refunds (except at our discretion case by case). For enterprise use with a guaranteed SLA contact us for a custom plan: info@soloweb.io.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to the User for any claim connected with the Service is limited to the amount of payments received from that User in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
We are not liable for: loss of data caused by the User’s improper use, loss of earnings or business opportunities arising from interruptions of the Service, indirect or consequential damage, content generated by third-party users through the Service.
The above does not limit liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, nor does it override the non-waivable rights granted to consumers by Italian law where applicable.
10. Changes to the Terms
We may change these Terms for technical, regulatory or commercial reasons. Changes take effect 30 days after publication on this page and after an email notice for substantial changes. If you don’t accept the changes you can cancel the subscription before they take effect without penalty.
Purely technical changes or textual clarifications may take effect immediately.
11. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by Italian law. For any dispute that may arise the competent court is that of Novara, without prejudice to the consumer’s right (if the User acts as a consumer under the Consumer Code) to go to the court of their place of residence or domicile.
Before going to court we commit to trying an amicable settlement by email: write to us at info@soloweb.io describing the dispute. We will reply within 15 days.
Under Art. 14 of EU Regulation 524/2013 on online dispute resolution (ODR), the European Commission has set up an ODR platform available at: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
